Reading Rwanda's Politics: A Conversation with Samuel Baker Byansi

In this interview, our producer Jeffrey Smith speaks to Rwandan journalist Samuel Baker Byansi, the co-founder of M28 Investigates, a non-profit media outlet that recently produced, Rwanda Classified, a multi-media exposé on the long pattern of repression, assassination attempts, and the use of surveillance technologies to silence critics of President Paul Kagame. During this conversation a number of critical topics were addressed, including the persistent rumors swirling around Kagame’s declining health, the dynamics of presidential succession, and the latest criminal charges brought against Rwandan opposition leader, Victoire Ingabire.
